1.a)
Continue with our workshops and trainings on conflict resolution
(i.e. training on non violent communication) and human rights
education – nationally and not least regarding our project in a
Palestinian refugee camp in Syria.
b) Currently we are well
supported by the Danish Youth Council.
c) It would be easier
to broaden our project up for other project partners. Regarding the
project in Syria it would be much easier to get some interested
Slovenian colleagues in along with the Syrians and the
Danes.
It would be great to get funding to ‘train more
trainers’ who then will be able go out and train others on human
rights and conflict resolution – nationally and internationally. We
have a good program for that, but financials put limitations to the
amount that we are able to train.
2.a) The official Arabic
Initiative in Denmark is a great funding possibility also for youth
organizations to create projects, but unfortunately with
geographically limitations. The same degree of funding possibilities
should be made available regarding projects in non Arabic countries
in which Danish Youth wants to work.
b) Regarding youth:
Trainings, dialogue, debates between scholars and international
youth projects - on human rights, dialogue, conflict resolution and
peace.
OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
3. The national youth
councils seems as an idea to reach broad participation, but
unfortunately not all youth organizations on the subject,
regarding at least Denmark, are included in that council. So
it is optimal to also contact the governmental registrations of all
youth organizations in each country. That will do it for Denmark.
But for a country like for instance Azerbaijan where it is hard to
even register as an NGO it is important to get hold of a
international youth organizations who do often include these
‘non organizations’. But what goes for i.e. the Syrian case it is
even more difficult, but I think measures should be taken to also
broaden participation in these countries, to somehow reach the
non-organized.
4. Email through heads of the varying
youth organizations in scope of CoP seems as the primary source of
information flow.
5. Through an international youth
board, which the member organizations vote in for a certain time
period.
6. Create international projects, especially in
countries where such activities is limited or non existing, with the
specific aim to reach and somehow ‘organize’ this youth.
7.a)
I got this questionnaire through The Youth Atlantic Treaty
Association. Currently I am much more active in IFMSA’s
(International Federation of Medical Students' Associations)
Standing Committee on Human Rights & Peace, and this is the
organization I have been referring to above.
b) The
international IFMSA coordinator on Human Rights and Peace can be
reached through ifmsa-scorp-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
