If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP
would you like to do as an individual?
Protection of
historical and cultural heritage in conflict areas. I have personal
experience of such non-governmental and individual efforts that
resulted in preservation of number of endangered cultural monuments
and items during the conflict in Southern Caucasus in
1990s.
b) What non-financial support do you need to do these
activities?
c) If funds were available, what youth activities
related to a CoP would your organization like to
do?
Introduction and development of video streaming
technologies as a mean of independent view on ongoing events,
self-expression as well as exchange of information and ideas. While
almost unknown to Armenian audience, it could serve as a tool for
uniting youth on its way towards breaking the stereotypes and
building the broader view on local, regional and international
level.
Youth Facing Contemporary Threats - international
virtual and real conference and college course project aimed to
address the issue of contemporary extremist trends and influences.
It will survey the roots of extremist philosophy in order to plan,
implement and develop effective preventive measures aimed on
youth.
Peace Through Culture - project, combining the efforts
in culture, education, informatics in the area of electronic
networks and technologies with aim to establish forum for wide
cultural and confessional dialogue through Inter-Regional network on
Internet.
Cultural Diversity - survey and presentation of
cultural diversity in Armenia conducted by young researchers and
scholars of ethnic minorities.
d) What non-financial support
does your organization need for CoP activities?
Support
letters from international organizations aimed to introduce the idea
and practice of independent student research projects in programs of
corresponding Universities and Colleges in Armenia.

What changes in youth policies do you think the
government/leadership in your country should make to promote a
CoP?
Creation of special governmental agency responsible for
support of youth involvement in CoP activities in Armenia and
abroad.
b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think
the UN should do?
Build pro-active dissemination campaign
carried out by such outstanding personalities as UN Peace
Ambassadors. The efficience ofthis effort will multiply is conducted
in most popular format for youth - concerts, festivals,
e-networks.

suggestions or recommendations for improving youth participation in
CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil
society)?
4. What could be done to improve/ensure
transparency and flow of information in promoting the
CoP?
More active creation of different multiple networks
(real and electronic) to support the ideas/experience exchange and
communication between young people on state/regional/inter-regional
levels.
5. To ensure the best possible benefit of a UN
Voluntary Fund for youth and CoP, how should it be
managed/administered?
6. How can youth not yet involved in
CoP activities be reached and motivated?
Through pro-active
and continuous efforts that would help young people to feel required
and involved in social processes of the country.
