1. INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES
a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would you to do as an individual?
deliver
lectures about multiculturalism, tolerance, human diversity including
cultural and religious ones, youth cooperation among young people from
Middle East.
b) What non-financial support do you need to do these activities?
legal
support from the authorities to deliver this kind of speeches, human
support from young people consisting in the will of listening a
different point of view.
c) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do?
organize
forums and summer schools for the youth from Middle East having as main
topic the achievement of the main values and principles of a democratic
state throughout puting into practice a model of such a state. Young
people would learn how democratic Parliaments and Governments function
and, at the end, would be able to compare what they had achieved with
the state of facts from their country. d) What non-financial support does your organization need for CoP activities?
legal support from the authorities, human support from the participants, linguistic help
2. SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT AND THE UN
a) What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP?
pay
more attention to national minorities and convince them to give up to
their intentions of segregation by offering them the right to
community privacy along with the keeping and affirmation of
ethnocultural identity , as well as the possibility of integration and
participation to public affairs. b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do? organize
forums, conferences aiming at familiarising young people with the rules
of international jurisprudence with regard to human rights, rights of
minorities, the legitimacy/ illegitimacy of war etc. OTHER QUESTIONS
3. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil society)? give
them the chance of meeting in summer camps, forums etc. and providing
them with specific duties, responsabilities, encourage them to express
their ideas in writing by organizing essay contests with topics related
to youth policies. 4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP? The Internet remains the best way to ensure transparency and the flow of information in promoting the CoP.
5. To ensure the best possible return of a voluntary fund for youth and CoP, how should it be managed/administered? The
fund should be placed in a valid and sustainable youth project. This
fund would be managed in a decentralized way, which means that every
department of the organization leading the project would receive
an amount of money aiming at covering the expenses in the respective
field.
6. How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be reached and motivated? Young
people respond very quiqly to provocations and they are more keen on
principles and values than adults. Young people get involved in
activities mainly corresponding to their values or being seen as a
necessity. They have to be convinced that their part in the respective
activity is important and that the activity itself would have
palpable results. Peace is one of the most present values in young
people"s mind and it is also seen as a necessity. So, the main problem
would be how they can contribute to the maintenance and bulding of
peace? Giving them concrete responses to this question would make youth
get more involved in CoP. 7. a) Which other organizations do you know of, that work for a CoP? PATRIR-
The Romanian Institute for Action, Instruction and Research in the
domain of Peace, European Network of Civilian Peace Services, The
Institute for International Mediation and Conflict Resolution, World
Conference on Religion and Peace.
b) Would you be willing to contact them or may we contact them with the questionnaire? Please specify. I would be willing to contact them, after having your permission.
