Questionnaire
1.c) For member organisations: Training courses, advocacy, lobbying, capacity building. Funds
are a problem - last year, only 3 percent of the funding required for
youth was given. Organisations need support not only for projects, but
also for salaries, running an office - very little available in that
respect.
d) National youth council is the focal point for 44
organisations - they can forward info and find the right contacts (i.e.
give non-financial support).
2.a) Youth law only now developing
(not yet passed) after great efforts by the Youth Council – hoping that
elections in Oct will not undo all the work. Some documents developing
on youth policy.
OPTIONAL QUESTIONS 3. Lobbying
government. One previous project involved creating a shadow youth
cabinet. The project “build a bridge” involved lobbying government and
parliament. The president and board members carry out lobbying and
involve youth.
4. Sharing reports from meetings (publishing on
webpage or e-mailing). Sharing info from external meetings and making
suggestions on possible benefits of cooperation etc. Consulting
all members on important decisions. 7.a) Latvian Red Cross Youth.
8.My response to this questionnaire is my organisation’s opinion.
