1. c) Need funds to keep org running – staff salaries and office costs. Would
like to do projects involving local youth volunteers doing community
service at local level in Hungary. International exchanges, motivate
high school students and students lacking higher education
qualifications to get exposed to other countries and cultures. Measuring and evaluating outcomes of youth projects.
d) Skills and attitudes for developing monitoring and evaluation courses/skills among youth and organisations.
2.
a) Youth not high enough on the agenda for the government. Government
need to increase its awareness of youth issues as young people are now
approached as a problem group, treated as students without credibility.
Lobbying, NGO cooperation - having one strong voice - is needed in
Hungary for youth issues.
b) Local level change is key. Macro
orgs – hard to relate to what’s happening in reality on local level,
large orgs lag behind. Always the same NGOs present in UN discourse -
large ones. Form partnerships with NGOs and include new orgs on
temporary basis through accessible channels.
OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
3. Teachers and parents good adult groups to talk to – educate them about youth culture.
4.
Very important. Simplify procedures - it should be easy to understand
how it works, people fear complicated processes. Clarity &
simplicity most important. Partnerships and consultation important with
grassroots level from the outset when working on projects, making
funding available etc – lack of trust from below otherwise. (Ok to
quote).
8. My response to this questionnaire is my organisation’s opinion.
