Questionnaire
1. a) Education for a culture of
peace, internship with peace organisastions in crisis areas,
journalistic work, publishing.
b) Affordable training and
resource materials in local languages, networking
opportunity.
c) Translations and publishing of relevant
literature, investigative journalistic work, organization of quality
training in cooperation with specialized agencies.
d)
Contacts, info on fin. resources, access to relevant research, legal
services.
2. a) Enable youth to actively take part or develop
youth policy, conduct research on the topic. And generally
government should educate themselves on CoP.
b) Encourage
governments to develop youth CoP programs and allocate funds for
that. Consider youth fund when reforming UN.
OPTIONAL
QUESTIONS
3. Some more effective system of networking and
coordination to improve youth participation is needed. Network nods
approach rather than an umbrella organization.
4. More
publishing i.e. books, magazines and news; involving students to do
research (open research policy); develop an online repository of
relevant information; organize global and regional events such as
WSF; call EU, UN and other to say what activities and policies are
relevant for promotion of CoP. Independent sources of funding
should be available.
5. I think that principles EC DG for
Research use for the Framework Programme is the most transparent and
accountable. Clear selection of evaluators, clear evaluation process
etc. The administration body can be either central or regional (per
continent).
6. Organisations that runs peace studies should
be involved and well as all those running peace education. It should
be connected to the universities and high schools. Informatin could
be delivered through youth hostels and other mainstreams
channels.
7. a) In Croatia: The Center for Peace Studies from
Zagreb, Center for Peace, Non-Violence and Human Rights from Osijek,
Danube Youth Peace Group from Vukovar, Documenta Center, initiative
Another World is Possible and Food Not Bombs collective,
organization Mali Korak/Small Step from Zagreb, Quaker Peace
Service, Nansen Dialogue Center, Center for Women’s Studies in
Zagreb, iZmiR – organization of war veterans for peace
etc.
