1. Individual and organisational activities
a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would you to do as an individual?
Since
Iran has a rich 2500-year civilisation, and has been a land of peace,
and the Silk Route went through it, as an Iranian youth I would like to
take the message of peace to the countries that the Silk Route goes
through, and call on these countries to take part in creating a
peaceful world.
b) What non-financial support do you need to do these activities?
Wide scale planning by governments towards the promotion of culture of peace.
c) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do?
Hold
sittings, seminars, and educational workshops on culture of peace in
wide-ranging levels, to make the general public aware of the concepts
and aims of global peace.
d) What non-financial support does your organization need for CoP activities?
Make
use of the experiences and instruments of international organizations
regarding culture of peace, and to establish links with these
organizations
2. Support from Government and the UN
a) What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP?
Expansion
of the role of the youth in peace programmes, and the use of younger
opinions and capacities, and mix them with the experiences of the past.
Further fitting of the youth in national and international
participatory projects, for them to gain experience and make use of
them in new and more practical projects.
b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do?
Call to participation of the youth in peace projects. Holding education courses on other countries experiences on the subject.
3. Other questions
Do
you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth
participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil
society)?
The government: to establish facilities such as cultural centres to promote peace The UN: to let youth NGOs participate, and implement joint projects with these NGOs on the subject of peace. To set up a special working group with the objective of the promotion of peace in countries. Localisation of related projects through the use of youth capacities.
4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP?
--
5. To ensure the best possible return of a voluntary fund for youth and CoP, how should it be managed/administered?
To let the youth conduct related activities. Monitoring of how these activities are conducted. Continuous report preparation to ensure the implementation of the projects.
6. How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be reached and motivated?
To
attract the youth to take part in these activities. Make use of
psycho-analytical techniques to draw the interest of the youth in peace
activities. To plan to make the youth understand the subject as being very urgent.
7. a) Which other organizations do you know of, that work for a CoP?
Promotion of Culture of Peace Council; Children for Peace Association
b) Would you be willing to contact them or may we contact them with the questionnaire? Please specify.
