questionnaire:
1.
a) If funds were available, what youth
activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do?
Do
a research on the causes of conflict amongst young people in Fiji and
explore solutions. Raise awareness on about the different
conflicts that exist in our local community and engage young people to
approach the issue with the best solution to achieve peace.
b) What non-financial support does your organization need to do these activities?
Research:
questionnaires, survey, organizing forums for youth
leaders/representatives to voice the causes & solutions of
conflict.
2. What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do?
The
youth activities UN initiates in one region of the world will have to
be quiet different to other regions. For example in the Pacific,
addressing CoP in the Melanesian countries might be different to
addressing the issue in the Polynesian countries.
A research
should be done by young people from the different regions of UN members
on identifying existing conflicts at community & national level.
Raise awareness on the existing conflicts according to the data
found and act/support solutions suggested by young people themselves.
Most importantly, engage young people at advocacy level.
OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
3.
Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for
improving youth participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN,
government, civil society)?
Government to recognize and increase
awareness on the topic – CoP. For Fiji, we have NGOs and Regional
NGOs that focus on conflict resolutions but need to engage young people
in the lobbying and advocacy process.
4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP?
Have a non-government youth organisation in every UN member countries to be the focal point for the flow of information on CoP.
5.
To ensure the best possible benefit of a UN
Voluntary Fund for youth and CoP, how should it be managed/administered?
This
should be managed & administered by non-government youth
organizations that focus on social change/conflict resolution/CoP.
6. How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be reached and motivated?
Use
your focal point (non-government youth organisation) to organize
projects for the community & do more outreach programmes on CoP.
