Background
Firstly, we want to introduce our organization. Our organization is
named Youth Association of Cambodia in Kandal province. It is a
non-governmental organization which acts with Cambodia youth and
students in Kandal province under the leadership of Youth Association
of Cambodia and Cambodia People Party. The Youth Association of
Cambodia in Kandal province is now located at N0 403 BE0, Takhmao
commune, Takhmao district, Kandal province, Cambodia and E-mail: yac_kandal@yahoo.com.
Since it was established in 1979 until 1993, the Youth Association of
Cambodia in Kandal province was very popular in leading activities of
youth and children both inside and outside schools. Its structure of
leading activities was from local level schools and villages to
province level. Most of youth's member had learned to improve their
knowledge and activities. Some became popular leaders in their areas as
well as in their families; some became good governmental officers, and
some other members became top leader in the government etc. After
national election in 1993, Cambodian political situation has slightly
changed which made activities of the Youth Association of Kandal
province seem to be in one place (for some time). This also effects
Cambodian youth like the shortage of budget to meet their serious need
and problems. We have amended our policies by collecting data about
their serious need and problems. Now there are about 10,000 members
among that more than 5,000 are women and from the age of 15 to 28 in
this organization. They are governmental officer, farmers, workers,
employees and students in provincial offices, organizations, in 11
districts and 20 high schools, 83 secondary schools, and 413 primary
schools in Kandal province. This organization has 59 members among 27
are women which are working permanently at the office. This
