1. a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would you to do as an individual?
Youth, Conflict and Peace – building 1) Vision building; our history 2) The Zimbabwe we live in today 3) Zimbabwe in a globalised world 4) The Zimbabwe we want Gender mainstreaming and HIV/AIDS 1) Gender dimensions of HIV/AIDS 2) Religion and HIV/AIDS 3) Resources for HIV/AIDS Youth and Socio – cultural aspects 1) Use of culture as a tool of analysis (media and arts) 2) Spiritual development and leadership Religion, Governance and Leadership 1) Values of faith - based notions 2) Religion, Conflict and Peace – building 3) Understanding power and leadership
These
programmes will be conducted in the form of Youth Camps, Conferences
and Advocacy workshops, and these will thematic topics to be covered to
ensure a culture of peace in the youths
b) What non-financial support do you need to do these activities?
These activities need to be coordinated at a national level, therefore, there is need for the following; o Resource persons from varied backgrounds o Computer for documentation and database storage o Vehicle for the coordinator’s transport o Teaching aids
c) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do?
The
United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe envisages the establishment of a
Youth Counseling and Training Centre in outlying areas of Zimbabwe. The
above-mentioned activities will therefore be coordinated from this
Centre
2. a) What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP?
Zimbabwe
has a sharply polarized society, divided along political and ethnic
backgrounds. The leadership needs to inculcate a culture of tolerance
through the following; o Facilitate the development of a conscious
youth in respect of their rights and responsibilities irregardless of
political affiliation o Empower youths’ active participation in decision – making and policy formulation o Equip the youth as non – partisan agents of the reconstruction process o Identify and create a leadership base for the youth b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do? Continental and intercontinental Youth camps, Conferences and advocacy workshops

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth
participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil
society)?
Promote diversity and visibility of the youth to the leadership
4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP?
Create
partnerships for the youths in liaison with local United Nations
Country Team and individuals who want to support and enhance the young
people in their efforts to combat their marginalisation and
discrimination
5. To ensure the best possible return of a voluntary fund for youth and CoP, how should it be managed/administered?
Through
the UNCT and the identified individuals who will be acting as an
Advisory Board to the activities and programmes of the youths
6. How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be reached and motivated?
Through Youth Camps and conferences with thematic topics that promotes a culture of peace.
