1. a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would you to do as an individual?

Our youth today are facing two major problems and these are: Unemployment and the great spread of HIV/AIDS, these major issues must be addressed in order for us to have a long standing development in our nations, these same issues have really brought instability in our countries, people and especially young people have become violent and peace is surely hard to find in many in countries and on a large scale in developing countries. Therefore, the initiatives of formulating youth led projects must be encouraged and supported with whatever resources available. The following are the major activities which can be carried once support is available:

• Formation of youth led internet cafes which will give employment opportunities to some of our underprivileged youths in our societies; this will also give access to cheap and free materials which will be of great use for the major knowledge improvement in our young people.
• Introduction of small entrepreneurship fund schemes for our young people, this will help many young people to obtain small loans to finance their small business initiatives.
• Starting a school where our young people will learn many important skills for their well being. Courses like Computer skills, business skills, capentry, telloring and design etc will be offered at a relatively low cost to our young people.
• Telecentres will establish where our young people will able to find various types of information about issues affecting our development both positively and negatively.

b) What non-financial support do you need to do these activities?
• These activities could be supported in many ways which include: Inkind donations of useful second hand equipment like, computers, cell phones, printers, photocopying machines, cameras etc.
Not only could there be a support with equipment but also
donations of books, balls, and sports wear, website developments,
                  Volunteer of trainers etc.

c) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do?
• When funds are available, we would like to the above stated activities which includes;
• Sports activities to keep the youth away from many bad activities
• Computer centres to help the youth with latest information about many different things in life, also the young people will have chances of sharing knowledge with many other different people from around the world.
• Business centres where young people will be empowered with many different business skills to help them start their own small businesses
• Small fund business schemes which will help young people with small business startup capital

d) What non-financial support does your organization need for CoP activities?
• These activities could be supported in many ways which include: In-kind donations of useful second hand equipment like, computers, cell phones, printers, photocopying machines, cameras etc.
Not only could there be a support with equipment but also
donations of books, balls, and sports wear, website developments,
                 Volunteer of trainers etc.

2.a) What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP?

• Our future depends on how well with empower our young people, if we do not do this in our countries, we will then have no leaders in the future and this will mean that ,all the calamities we are seeing today, will be multiplied and this means that things will be much more worse than we see them today. Therefore, our governments must spend most the resources available to support and empower our young people with many different developmental activities so that our good future will full of peace and light.
• Changes must be made in our country’s budgeting systems where the youth empowerment strategies must be given the first priority position. Our school curriculums must include many activities that promote peace and harmony.

b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do?
• The UN as it has been in the forefront in promoting peace and harmony in our nations around the world, I feel something more could be done, there must be a great support to our young people in the area of employment creation and there must always be a great support in the area of health, because most of these issues facing our nations today are mostly affecting our young people who are the cream of our future. The UN must always increase support on peace initiatives around the world and this will always be of great help to our underprivileged and privileged young people because they will always have something to keep them busy and always from disastrous behavior patterns.

OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
3. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil society)?

4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP?
• Information is very key to any development and welfare of any and the misuse of information could lead to developmental breakdowns. Therefore, it’s always important for any nation to put measures which will be of great help in the future. Information which is misused or misinterpreted usually leads to misunderstandings and that eventually leads to conflicts and wars. It is always important for security measures which will only make sure that the right and needed information is spread out flows accordingly.

5. To ensure the best possible return of a voluntary fund for youth and CoP, how should it be managed/administered?
• There must always be strict use of funds and funds must be directed to projects which will be of great benefit to the recipients and many other people. Security measures must always be put in place to make sure that funds are not misused or abused in any selfish way.
• Accountability must always be put in place and reports must always be produced and results must always be monitored and evaluated.

6. How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be reached and motivated?
• There are very few young people who have access to computers and the use of technology in advancing themselves – only one out of 1 000 households in Zambia has access to computers. Since the young people feel left out when they cannot communicate and work on the Internet as young people in other parts of the world do, there is a danger that they might revert to destructive behavior. Therefore,we can only involve our young people on a large scale when we introduce information and communication technology.

7. a) Which other organizations do you know of, that work for a CoP?
