1. a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would you to do as an individual? (and organization) - Carry out skills development trainings - Setting up demonstration centers at rural areas for youth to learn -
b) What non-financial support do you need to do these activities? -Trainings - General Education
2. a) What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP? - Promote youth participation in decision making processes. This should not just be done by elders. - Establish more youth organizations and National Youth Councils -
Legal reforms in a sense that the government must make youth
involvement a priority . This has to backed by a legal
framework. - Change the education curriculum. Start teaching Human Rights, Peace and reforms. -
Involvement of family in peace and democracy. Bad habits, hatred,
violence etc. is being taught by the families, so the government should
involve whole families in these reforms.
b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do? -
Promote exchange programs. Firstly within the country, after between
countries of the same region and after that maybe between continents. - Regional meetings and dialogue (East African region) - Sponsorship. The concepts of peace, tolerance etc. is rather new, so it needs coordinators etc. - Encourage youth groups
