1.INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANISATION ACTIVITIES.
A.In
the first place, my view point as an African is that Elderly people of
our society does not want young people to progress in life nor to be
independent and as such as an individual the culture of peace
initiative will teach the elderly to help the young people to be future
leaders of tommorow. If funds are available
1- Youth participation to local political decision-making process.
2-
Corporate and institutional conferences sessions focus on
the best public policy initiative and educational programs that empower
global community partnerships that improve the lives of Youth.#
3-
Sessions which will create an open dialogue to voice
opinions,ideas and experiences related to Youth;allowing participation
to different program models,engagement strategies and perspectives for
improving the educational career and political opportunities afforded
to Youths.
4- Establishment of Youth training Centres on lifeskills-to earn aliving ,UN programme
B.The Non-financial support we/I need to do these activities is for /I to hsave the following
. Educational Materials that
would educate youths on good political ethics,organising
conferences,corpoirate materials,equipments like computers, internet
facilities.
. Moral and exchange programmes
. Interships
.Equipments for
lifeskills (Sewing machines, welding equipments, Building materials
etc.)
C. In fact, as the Yourth of Sierra Leone
are prepared to face the future,the youth activities related to culture
of Peace that they would do :
i.
Respect for Human Right on
Workshops,conferences,trainings to teachers, Secondary School Pupils
and Primary School Teachers.
ii. Democratic participation
iii. Education for a culture of peace in keeping the peace.
iv. International peace and security
D.The non-financial support our youth organisation need for Culrture of Peace activities,
i.Educational materials on CoP.
ii.Information sharing
iii. Twining programmes foir youths around the world on CoP
IV.More collaboration/networking on CoP
v.Sustainable development.
2.Support from Government and the UN.
A.The present delay in parliament in Sierra Leone
to ratify the Youth policy has cause a breakdown on youth
participation.Therefore with CoP,the changes needed is for youth to
have a voice on local political decision making and participate fully
in democratic principles so theat CoPwould be promoted to all facets
B.The CoP UN should do
i-Equality between Women and men
ii.International Peace and Security
iii.Education for CoP
IV.Free flow of Information to youths
v.Respect for Human Right
VI.Sustainable Develoip,ment.
OTHER QUESTIONS
3.From the Sierra Leone point of view,I am suggessting:
-
Mobilisation and empowering youth,offering
them the opportunity to develop skills and assisting them to reach
their potential through healthy and safe lifestyle.
-
To promote interest,knowledge and expertise of the United
Nations and International development and culture of peace.
- Library with books,pamphlets and other informations on the culture of peace
- Facilities foe literacy and numeracy training of teenagers by youth leaders
-
Round tables to identify reasons for
culture of peace and youth participation in democratic
principles,seminars ,conferences,trainings.
I therefore making the folowing recommendations:
.,Aimed
at implementing measures involving lobbying the excutive and
legislatures to reform human right,Education, creation of youth
training centres.
.To enhancing the capacity of the mass media
and other stakeholders in monitoring,documentation and reporting and
implementation of human rightss.Also involve engaged the executive and
legislature to incorporate human right laws especially the
discremination of women into the domestic legal regime.
.Organising
of international conferences,issues and domestic policy, be an integral
forum for communicating youth opinion and allowing young people to
broaden their horizons
.Co-operations with all other youth sections of the UN on CoP.
.Youth should be given opportunitiers to prepare political statements but constructivel solutions to the problems of today
.Keep the Peace
4.The reasons as folows
-Motivation through stripe-pens
-Check and balances
-Seminars,round tables discuss,conferences,training,workshop,sensitizations and audio visual aids.
5 .Accountability
.Transparency
.Training in Using The funds
.Frequent reporting/accurate report on use of funds
6. Organising regular workshop,seminars,sensitizations,training /Youth exchange
Activities such as life skills training and jobplacement
Re-entry non-school goers into formal education to learn about CoP.
7.
I have not heard of none yet but through collaboration with other
NGO’S in the countrey,I will try to identify them and network.
8.
My responses to this questionaires is my personal opinion that
Government should uphold these suggestions and recommendations made.
Organisations
opinion is that more collaboration should be target to enable to
educate youth on rights and responsibility on Culture of Peace.
