Firstly) Is your organization youth-led or primarily
youth-serving? Please explain briefly.
Alliance Cornerstone Youth Organization(ACYO) is a
voluntary,non-governmental,non-religious,non-partisan,non-profit
oriented and socio-political organisation.which was
formed and organized in Lagos State Nigeria in the
year 2004.lt's a youth empowerment organization with
the sole aim of empowering having fellowships to
expand our positive development of our youths and
plight of our women towards self and Nation building
based on the ministration of the word to the "outcast
" the violated, isolated Abused,Molested,Gender
mainstreaming discrimination,nonviloent conflict
Resolution.
Our Organization Goals
To help restore youths and Women that is affected.
· An improvement in the socio-economic
situation of the Women takes place.
· Enlightened about the poverty will be
reinforced by problems.
· To uplift their spirit.
· To develop the potential of the youths who
are aimlessly on the streets.
· To teach youth and Women on how to handle
some practical issues in life.
· To help to rehabilitate the dejected and
rejected youths and Women in the society so that they
can become the cornerstone of their life.
· To offer career aids to the youths that are
helpless in the society since it has been discovered
that many youths today are living without
mission,Vision,Love,Joy etc.

Without non_financial support our organization
cannot carryout these activities successfully>
2. SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT AND THE UN
a)What changes in youth policies do you think the
government/leadership in your country should make to
promote a CoP?
The national youth policy in 1983 and the child
Rights Act of 2003 need to be studied and taken along
with the UN Charter on the Rights of the Child and the
African Charter on the Rights of Child.There is need
for consistency and coherence and in streamlining
thses documents by making them alive to the needs and
Rights of children and youths.
The youth have basic,social,economic and political
needs and rights.These have to be fulfilled not in
toknist manner but in a decisively fundermental
manner,the rights of the youths are fundermental
rights and they need to be treated as such.
b)What CoP youth activities do you think the UN should
carry out?
Youth Empowerment
Capacity builkding
Socio-Economical development
Leadership and citizenship Education
Communication and Entrepreneurial/Management Skills
Community development Skills
Coperation and Networking
Violence and Gender issues

3.Do y ou have any suggestions or recommendations for
improving youth participation in CoP activities on any
level (UN, government, civil society)?
Involving youth participation in Culture of Peace
activities at any level should increase more
incorporating of more youths in the activities most
especially organization working with grassroots youths
in Africa,they should be more funded likewise give
full sponsorship to participate at any international
function activities relating to culture of peace
becuase doing so they are been enlisted as youths as
well.
4.What could be done to improve/ensure transparency
and flow of information in promoting the CoP?
There are many things to be done to improve and ensure
transparency and flow of information in promotng the
Culture of peace.One of teh major point is
incorporating the grassroot youths into
activities,development,we at ACYO believe that
organization working with grassroots youths should be
more funded and assisted to develop ,they need support
of UN to develop the youths also diseminating free
information regarding policies involving them by
promoting culture of peace abundantly.
5.To ensure the best possible benefit of a UN
Voluntary Fund for youth on the CoP, how should it
be managed/administered?
We at ACYO believe for posible benefit of UN
voluntary fund for youth on CoP,budget should be drawn
by each organization on how the money will be utilized
in other to meet the purpose of the activities or an
equal certain amount to be given to ech organization
to carry out the project whereby it will be a equal
portion funds.
6.How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be
reached and motivated to get involved?
By reaching out to them through our youth yahoo
groups and Networks.
