PROJECT
LIFE is a youth – led and also primarily youth serving organization
registered under the youth club edict of 1976 in Kano state Nigeria. ORGANIZATION ACTIVITIES: 1
(A) If funds were available, PROJECT LIFE would promote the culture of
peace (particularly here in Kano state – northern Nigeria which is
known for its youth restiveness and violence) by all of the following: Role plays TV programmes (talk show, interactive session and CoP promoting soap operas Documentary and projecting peace promoting dramas in rural areas. (B) non financial support needed to do these things would include: · Computers and lap –tops · Projectors - writing materials i.e stationaries (C
) if funds were available, we would do TV programmes and run
documentaries on our state and private owned television stations; this
is so because most youth glue themselves to the tubes after school hours (D) same as above 2 SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT AND THE UN (A)
The policy that youth below 18 years old are not eligible to vote in
elections and those below 30 years not eligible to hold strategic
political office despite all qualifications ought to be changed.
Government should provide an enabling environment and not use us as
tools to further their greedy political aims. 3 OTHER QUESTIONS youth
participation in CoP activities should be encouraged by allowing youths
to be involved in the UN, government and civil societies with
funds made available for their activities. 4 To improve transparency and flow of information in promoting CoP, their shold be accountability 5
A U.N voluntary fund for youths on the CoP should be managed and
administered by a U.N agency like the USAID or whatever in
collaboration with CoP youth organization in focus states/countries. Thanks SAMUEL ENABOAKPE FOR: PROJECT LIFE, NO. 1- 2, Beirut Road, Ahmadu Dantata House, 4th floor, left wing Kano - Nigeria ********************************
