a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP
would you to do as an individual? We would like to intensify our
“Nonviolent Problem-Solving Project.” We, in this project, which
started a couple of months ago, teach the values of nonviolence
to all students and teachers in the secondary schools in Nigeria.

What non-financial support do you need to do these activities? We need
motor vehicles, film projectors and screens, video/photo camera,
power generating set, photocopiers, books and journals, print and
electronic materials on nonviolence. T-shirts with inscription of “say
no to violence.” Others are posters, banners and public
address system.

2. a) What changes in youth policies
do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to
promote a CoP? Government should formulate a comprehensive youth policy
that addresses the total welfare of youths. Education should be given
priority in terms of content and infrastructure.
b) What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do? Mount a global campaign against violence. Support development programmes. Support education of rural youth population.

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth
participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil
society)? The U.N should mount an intensive awareness campaign. 4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP? Involvment of youths in policy formulation and implementation. 5. To ensure the best possible return of a voluntary fund for youth and CoP, how should it be managed/administered? By trustees 6.
