a.If funds were available, what youth activities related to a Cop would you do as an individual?
•Respect all life •Reject violence •Share with others •Listen to understand •Join Youth Peace Clubs •Hold peer group discussions on Cop
b.What non-financial support do you need to do these activities?
Parental, community and educational support
c. If funds were available, what youth activities related to a Cop would your organization like to do?
-Conduct workshops, seminars, focus group discussion on Cop. -Broadcast peace messages -Print and distribute posters, fliers, stickers on Cop -Stage dramas -Essay contests on Cop -Organize Peace Clubs in schools and communities -Conduct prayer services on Cop d. What non-financial support does your organization need for Cop activities?
Moral support from homes, schools, communities, civil society and religious organizations and government.
2.SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT AND THE UN
a. What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a Cop ?
The
government should implement policies that focus attention to and
involve the youth in decision making and government.
b. What Cop youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do?
The UN should involve youths in peace-building programs and activities and support youth0-oriented projects on Cop
3.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR RECOMMENDATION FOR IMPROVING YOUTH
PARTICIPATION IN COP ACTIVITIES ON ANY LEVELS (UN. GOVERNMENT, CIVIL SOCIETY)?
-We
recommend that they (all) should fully support National Youth Programs
such as education, sports, recreation, self-sustainability, etc.
4. WHAT COULD BE DONE TO IMPROVE/ENSURE TRANSPARENCY AND FLOW OF INFORMATION IN PROMOTING THE COP? -Free and unimpeded flow of information and freedom of expression. -Encourage mass participation in the Cop activities.
5. To ensure the best possible return of a voluntary fund for youth and Cop, how should it be managed/administered?
-To
put in place a proper mechanism where transparency and accountability
will be strictly adhered to in managing and funds made available to
implement any project.
-Expenditure of funds will at alls times
require the approval of the Board of directors. There should also be a
periodic audit of funds to make sure that funds are used wisely and for
the intended purpose.
6. How can youth not involved in Cop activities be reached or motivated?
-Through radio broadcasts, peer group and focus group discussions, sports and athletics, etc.
7a. Which other organizations do you know that work for a Cop?
National Youth Council, YMCA of Liberia. b. Would you be willing to contact them or may we contact them with questionnaire?
We
are partners working for the CoP. We conduct joint programs at
times, and share information on the promotion of the CoP in Liberia. 8.My response to this questionnaire is the organization’s opinion
