As an organisation, if funds were available, we could invest in the following projects to promote culture of peace. Sports
activities for youth at both levels from villages to International
levels. The Sports should discourage any form of discrimitaion based on
relgion, creed, race, tribe, clan or country. Funds should be set aside
to organise come together activities and trophies should be given
fairly irrespective of race or religion except on merit only. Economic
activities for youth should be initiated. Poverty, idleness, drug
abuse, HIV/AIDS are big threats to culture of peace worldwide and
especially in 3rd World countries. Guidance and counselling
with a view of achieving or developing acceptable worldwide human
acceptable morals especially for youth from developed countries. People
should fight to overcome culture of greedy, selfishness, lack of
accepting or looking at other people as beggars fromcountries that are
corrupt and who cannot improve and make their economies stable. Manufacturing,
distribution and use of weapons of war must be controlled and
properly co-ordinated. Youth and young people should not be recruited
in guerrila war activities, gangs like those managed by Osama Bin Laden. There
should be a fund set aside by UN. World Bank, IMF and other financial
Institutions to be circulated worldwide to face and to be used in
solving some of these problems. In the absence of funds we can
use some other forums to articulate and promote these activities. But
without money these activities will not be appealing. Government
and UN should set up Youth Clubs that are fully funds and the Youth
should be given audience and support to develop their talents. All
youth clubs should be encouraged to have access to Rural Radio
Stations, computers for youth clubs should be linked worldwide through
internet to ensure transparency in information flow. Youth can be reached through sports initiating income generating projects to reduce poverty and idleness. Please
help our organisation to organise forums where other organisations and
youth groups could be invited to discuss this questionnaire then we
forward to you. Even in future we are in a position to organise a forum
where you can be invited to facilitate and create more awareness
concerning cop. Apart from that we shall be very grateful if your
organisation can be used to fund raise for us and channel the funds to
our organisation to enable us set up an international cultural, social
and economic research Institute in one of the rural villages to be used
in promoting culture of peace in our country and neighbouring
countries. Our organisation is youth oriented undertaking Youth
Activities. Thanks, SILVANUS MALAHO EX. DIRECTOR. *****************************
