QUESTIONNAIRE
Firstly) Is your organization youth-led or primarily youth-serving? Please explain briefly.
International
Centre for Conflict and Human Rights Analysis (ICCHRA) is a non
discriminatory, non profit-making and non governmental organization
whose function is primarily to serve the needs of the youth, children
and women at national and international levels.
STATUS
ICCHRA
is legally registered at international level in Ghana and officially
recognized at national levels by agencies and institutions and
currently has offices in Togo, Nigeria, The Gambia, Senegal, Liberia,
Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone.
Congo DR, Burundi, Geneva, Italy and has its head office in Accra,
Ghana
ICCHRA is a research, teaching and training program that
critically examines the policies and actions of Governments,
International Organizations and independent actors that affect the
realization of human rights around the world.
MISSION
The
center is based on the belief that there is a new generation of
potential leaders reaching adulthood who are internally prepared to
depart from the leadership styles and consciousness of the past, to
forge ahead and implement a new paradigm in the world. Our intent is to
support them in their development by providing a curriculum in peace
building, conflict management, regional integration, security studies,
human rights awareness designed to help them become consciously aware,
to be of high integrity and be heart-centered leaders in their
communities and the world.
VISION
ICCHRA’s vision is to use the knowledge and skills acquired for positive and constructive purposes.
OBJECTIVES OF ICCHRA
- To end prejudice and violence within mankind - To work for implementation of human rights that encompasses political, economic, cultural and social rights for all people. -
For the establishment of a culture of peace and a new civilization that
is based on respect for life, the environment and for each other.

International Centre for Conflict and Human Rights Analysis, is an
organization founded by a youth for the youth and its programs are
youth related programs, and youth led Board of Directors
1. INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES
a) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a culture of peace (CoP) would you like to do as an individual?
b) What non-financial support would you need to do these activities?
c) If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do?
if
funded ICCHRA, INTERNATIONAL is intending to organize a week-long
programme titled – ‘Walking a noble path’ with varieties of activities
to commemorate the United Nations International Day of Peace in the
entire ICCHRA, INTERNATIONAL operating countries.
d) What non-financial support would your organization need to do these activities?
Since
our intention is to create awareness, non-financial support that
ICCHRA, INTERNATIONAL will need to implement this activities shall
include but not limited to Posters, DVD Videos, Documentaries, photos,
articles, materials relating to peace-building, expertise advise and
publicities
2. SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT AND THE UN
a) What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP?
ICCHRA,
INTERNATIONAL (www.icchra.org) in partnership with Youth for
Human Rights International, USA (www.youthhumanrights.org) has already
launched out a campaign to lobby government and agencies that has
mandate to promote peace education in Ghana, and the rest of ICCHRA,
INTERNATIONAL operating countries to introduce Culture of Peace and
Human Rights Education as part of the academic curriculum in first and
second cycle school programs
b) What CoP youth activities do you think the UN should carry out? The
United Nations should empower civil societies like ours to establish
school clubs to talk more about culture of peace and its related
subject. The UN need to get youth involvement to promote culture of
peace in families, school and communities

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth
participation in CoP activities on any level (UN, government, civil
society)?
Youth should be given the opportunity to come out
with their own strategies and ideas on culture of peace , they should
active participate in such forums and meeting
4. What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP?
International
NGO’s, Civil Society organizations and the UN agencies should built
very interactive portal/website to share information on strategies on
culture of peace and also workshop and seminars should be inclusive
5. To ensure the best possible benefit of a UN Voluntary Fund for youth on the CoP, how should it be managed/administered?
Civil Society organization should be involved in the management and administering the funds for transparency purposes
6. How can youth not yet involved in CoP activities be reached and motivated to get involved?
By getting closer to the grass root communities, school project, community initiatives, mailing list, etc
7. a) Which other organizations do you know of, that work for a CoP? United Network for Young Peace –Builders, West Africa Youth Network, West Africa Network for Peace-building
b)
