Questionnaire

If funds were available, what youth activities related to a Culture of Peace (CoP) would you to do as an individual?

Our organization is called Ratson-Women Youth and children development program. We have experience of the City -to City -Diplomacy in Addis and we work closly with youth . If fund is avaliable we plan to devlope ICT in all ten subcities of Addis using computers and vidoe confruncing  and of course again net work this with youth programs  through out the world using the municipalites of the cities. This is an exciting program we want establih . The project concept is on the shelf and it is an inovative and cost effective one.

What non-financial support do you need to do these activities?

Experts on ICT and trainers on lobbying, conflict resolutions and advocacy. Refurbished computers and some manterials of Vido conferancing. Training materials on conflict resolution^^ peace promotion etc.^^ Vido cassets to show for youth and children on peace and related subjects.

If funds were available, what youth activities related to a CoP would your organization like to do? (If you answer this question, please name your organization)

If funds are available we will establish youth dialogue forums through the internet and vidoconfeerancing sites. We will also call the city mayors ^^ parlamenterians^^ low keepers parents and establish talk show and help them discuss on current and imp0ortant issues giveing the chance for the youth to experess theier cocepts and ideas on the media.

What non-financial support does your organization need for CoP activities?

Indicated above

What changes in youth policies do you think the government/leadership in your country should make to promote a CoP?

Here in Ethiopia the youth is always expected to be organized directly under the ruling party and never give them a chance to establsih their own association that could challenge and work work at the same time in partnership with the governemnt. Policies that give rooms for the youth to establish their own association with out being linked to the government should  be advocated and adoubted

What CoP youth activities/initiatives do you think the UN should do?

programs on sport, art  and ICT for peace sould be encouraged and  funded. The UN should try to adobt policies that could help it 'access the youth' with little interferance of the governments

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for improving youth participation in CoP activities on any levels (UN, government, civil society)?

Our City to city diplomacy is a perfect and exciting way of bringing youth from different countries and educational levels to work on peace. We use Art and ICT as an entry point and we encourage the UN to wok in that line.

What could be done to improve/ensure transparency and flow of information in promoting the CoP?

Put pressure on the government to let the youth have acess to media and internet facilities.
