Meaningful
World represents all the activities of the Association for Trauma
Outreach and Prevention (ATOP), the Armenian American Society for
Studies on Stress and Genocide (AASSSG), and the activities of the
partnerships with collaborative centers, such as One-by-One,
Association for Spirituality and Psychotherapy, Fielding World Wide
Network for Gender Empowerment, International Division of the American
Psychological Association, Psi Chi, SPSSI, NY, Karuna Center for Peace
Building, Columbia University Center for Human Dignity and Humiliation
Studies (HumanDHS), International Council of Psychologists (ICP),
Global Society for Nursing and Health, International Association for
Genocide Scholars (IAGS), and the United Nations.

ACTIONS: What activities have
been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a

Meaningfulworld
is dedicated to fostering a meaningful, peaceful, and just world in
which every individual enjoys physical, mental, ecological, and
spiritual health. Meaningfulworld facilitates this journey through
providing information on formal lectures, opportunities for informal
networking, humanitarian outreach programs, research and publications.
Individual and collective opportunities for change, development, and
transcendence are also provided through workshops, clinical
interventions, and referrals. These services are provided in a peaceful
atmosphere of acceptance, respect, empathy, forgivenes, and compassion.

of action and in your constituency during the second half of the

Meaningfulworld
has completed a successful mission to Sierra Leone in 2009, and has
implemented a "Sponsor a Child in Armenia" program which also extends
to children in Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, and Pakistan. The organization
has generated mental health outreach projects across the United States
and in Darfur, Sudan, Armenia, Kobe, Japan, Kuwait, Yugoslavia, Mexico,
Sri Lanka, The Dominican Republic, Pakistan, Lebanon & Syria, and
Bosnia since 1989.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

As
a non-profit organization, Meaningfulworld relies on the funding of
generous donors and volunteers to carry out its endeavors. Without
their valued support, our organization would encounter many obstacles
when enacting new programs.

planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to
promote a culture of peace and nonviolence? |
ATOP
Meaningfulworld Mental Health Outreach Project goes to Haiti:The
Association for Trauma Outreach & Prevention (ATOP) of
Meaningfulworld, an international charitable organization devoted to
fostering a meaningful, peaceful, and just world, is assisting the
Haitian community in NY greater tri-state by providing phone
consultations, PTSD briefing, consultations, and education. ATOP
is planning a mission to Haiti starting on March 10th 2010. We
have over 15 volunteer professionals who have offered to join our three
Missions to Haiti. We invite volunteers fluent in Creole and/or French
to aide us in conducting trainings for Haiti’s mental health
