2007:
Global Walk Foundation in Juba made a presentation to the people of Southern Sudan, presenting symbols of peace such as a Peace Pole, a framed poster and a wooden dove.
Scouts Scouts in Sudan have been managing camps for Internally Displaced Persons, distributing food and relief and raising awareness of health issues, since the Darfur Crisis began in July 2003. They are joining with millions of Scouts around the world on the International Day of Peace taking action within their communities through the Gifts for Peace projects and speaking out, sharing their thoughts and wishes through multi-media peace messages.
War Child and partner organizations celebrated the International Day of Peace in Sudan with cultural activities, peace songs, and short stories written by and told by internally displaced children and street children. The children formed a living peace sign. Sandra Renew, Country Director of War Child Sudan, spoke urging the adults of the world to, "Stop the war and protect our children!" On the same day, War Child Holland opened a resource center for local organizations, children, and youth.

On a global level, reported events for the International Day of Peace continue to grow year after year (see the website listed above):
In the 2005 Report, 155 Peace Day events in 47 countries are presented.
The 2007 records show that:
* We had 623 commitments across the world
* 70 countries
* 225 cities (outside of the USA)
* 42 US states
* An estimate of nearly 500,000 participants
* An average of 500 people per event
2009 annual report listed 700+ events
