|
- The organization has been supported by grants for AusAID, Vodafone ATH Foundation Fiji and CANADA Fund to work with schools, prisons, parents and prefects since its registration in 2002
- The next 12 months of this project is to train around 50 facilitators and get them conducting workshops throughout the communities. One of the outputs from this project is that it will move beyond the boundaries of the Ba Province eventually providing training throughout the entire country.
- Recently the Vodafone ATH Foundation supervisors came to talk to us. We were told that they were very happy to support this project because after supporting our schools project children of the Board members were coming home and talking about the virtues activities at their schools.

|
- The Virtues Project Fiji was registered as an NGO in 2002. Verona Lucas is the Chairman of the Board, Shirley Matau is the Manager and Merseini Mateiwai is the trainer for the Fijian language courses.
- Current activities are addressing parenting in the Ba Province and the stories that are being told have participants in tears.
- 6 Introductory workshops have been carried out over the past three months and the project now moves on to train facilitators. In many instances the participants who represent almost every village in the Ba Province have returned to their communities to share what they have learned with immediate impact on those communities.
- Right as I write this there are 15 young adults here downstairs at our house going through a workshop with the objective of their becoming facilitators.

This project will be a partnership between the Ba youth program whose coordinator who is offering land for the youth to learn useful skills and the Virtues project to provide the personal development of each participant.
