2007:
The Environment Online (ENO) Network Programme teamed up with the Miss Earth International Beauty Pageant to participate in an international tree planting activity to mark the International Day of Peace. Zambian beauty title-holders led tree planting activities at the seven ENO participating schools in Zambia who are members of the Programme, joined by the boy's and girl's scouts movements. Five hundred schools in 90 countries across the globe participated in this activity through the ENO Network.
Service for Peace (SFP) organized a Peace Musical performance for the International Day of Peace. Children of Mackenzie Community School sang songs of Peace, Love, and Unity in front of officials from the Ministry of Youth Sport and Child Development, and the community of Mackenzie. It was during this performance that the children presented their message "Help Our Brothers and Sisters in Zimbabwe Have Peace and Unity" to the government officials. The event was well attended by leaders from youth organizations like the Youth Forum of Zambia.
Service for Peace (SFP) volunteers also served free lunch to children between 2 and 6 at the Walale Nutrition Center in Luanshya. The 20 volunteers prepared and served food to about 200 children, providing a break for the workers who do this job every day of the week.

On a global level, reported events for the International Day of Peace continue to grow year after year (see the website listed above):
In the 2005 Report, 155 Peace Day events in 47 countries are presented.
The 2007 records show that:
* We had 623 commitments across the world
* 70 countries
* 225 cities (outside of the USA)
* 42 US states
* An estimate of nearly 500,000 participants
* An average of 500 people per event
2009 annual report listed 700+ events
