Yes :
Opening
a new field of operation, namely youth exchange with Euro-Mediterranean
countries which resulted in great benefits for youth.
Measures of success:
* High positive public response.
* Promotion of an attitude of cross-cultural respect and tolerance among youth

Major obstacles encountered :
* Not all members had full-time commitment to the Society
* Financial Support
Measure of failure:
* Failure to take precautionary risk- management measures

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

Action areas :
* Organizing holiday camps for children, youth and families
* Promotion of cultural activities (e.g. theatre, music, etc.)
* Youth exchanges
Most important activities developed :
* Euro-Mediterranean Forum held in Sousse in which 9 countries and 15 organizations participated.
* A Forum on modern means of communication.

Youth exchange on the Euro-Mediterranean level

PLANS: What new engagements are
planned by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence in the second half of the Decade (2005-2010)? |
* More financial support is needed.
* Establishing a permanent secretariat, instead of total dependency on voluntary work of the Society's members.
* Developing stronger relations with Arab civil societies.
* Securing funds to pursue varied activities for youth and develop youth exchange programmes with Arab countries.
