PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Peace in the world is a motto of TCRDO. On
14th of June 2002 an independent platform was established, which was
also a non-profitable, non-political and non-governmental organization,
which was named “Trodden’s Clarion Receptors Development Organization”
(which means the listeners of the voice of the needy and trampled
people). TCRDO is a registered organization (social welfare act of
Pakistan 1961). Till the beginning, we are working hard for the
well-being of the needy communities and to achieve the motto workshops,
conferences and seminars are held especially to promote and understand
the culture of peace. Detailed history is in action.
|
OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
Lack of trainings and funds are the most significant particulars, which are playing the role of blockage in the way of peace.
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
Till
now we are successful in have seminars, workshops and conferences on
culture of piece and concerning other fields of TCRDO, but due to
obstacles (lack of funds) we are incapable to implement projects of
large scales and extent.
Also due to some sort of religious
issues, it felt difficult for conversation among several communities,
but it was necessary to communicate, during conferences and seminars to
maintain peace in all aspects of life. Several proposals have been made
for training and guidance.
|
ADVICE: What advice would you like to
give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a
culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade? |
The
government of Pakistan is doing a lot on peace and development in the
county and for the nation and people of Pakistan. To support and
promote development and a culture of peace, everyone knows that NGOs
are prominent, also in the social well being of needy communities,
therefore, an independent board of commission (NGO’s based) must be
established in Pakistan (Islamabad / Quetta). Members of this
organization must be from all over the world and they all shall be
allowed to participate the international seminars and workshops for
free, as the NGOs working in Pakistan are not good in financial status.
That all the NGO representatives must be allowed to meet or fix a
meeting with any of the Executive Member of the Commission or any of
the high authorities of government of Pakistan. The commission must be
directed to report directly to the Secretary General (UN). The United
Nations Security Council should be empowered to place sanctions on the
Government of Pakistan in cases of inaction by the government
concerning issues raised by the Commission.
|
PARTNERSHIPS: What partnerships and
networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the
global movement for a culture of peace? |
TCRDO
is a registered organization (social welfare act of Pakistan 1961). We
are working with the local NGOs, CBOs, CSOs and youths. We are also
working the Human Rights in Pakistan and also with the Catholic
Churches. We have also a communication with the international
organizations via email and otherwise.
|
PLANS: What new engagements are
planned by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence in the second half of the Decade (2005-2010)? |

we are working for the human sustainable development and culture of
peace with special importance to the minorities. Because when the
minorities stay crushed, they will be unable to retain a good position
in the community then, for this purpose the following study has been
done, but awaiting for further actions, due to unavailable funding
facilities. 1. Providing Primary/Secondary Education. 2. Vocational training. 3. Providing recreational facilities. 4. Promoting sports training. 5. Moral & financial assistance in Jobs placement. 6. International Scholarships. 7.
