PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Oasis Foundation has been working in the backward and
far-flung areas to promote education,health status awareness about environment and proper utilization of natural resources.
It has established an educational institute from which the masses are given awareness to culture of peace.the institute
has so far imparted qualititative English Language training to almost 3000 students who have now access to read books,
magazines,newspapers,periodicals written in english.they
easily have come to know about international affairs.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
The
most important obstacles are the lack of education.Majority of the
ppapulation in pakistan lives in rural areas.People mostly depend on
agriculture and livestock.So
they have little or no interest in
education.They are not interested in the country or international
affairs which has prevented them from progress.

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
For
the progress and development of any society, education plays a key
role. through education one can understand oneself. For this purpose
the foundation has established an
institute from which special training sessions have been held in which people were lectured to live in peace and establish
brother
hood.They were required to send their children to schools which has
proved successful.the efforts towards culture of peace are still on on
the part of the foundation.

The famous saying is Justice delayed,Justice denied. Justice
Justice hurried,Justice Buried.
