progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
The
facilities provided by our headquarters country, and the contributions
of university professors and doctors of medicine have helped us develop
many significant activities in the fields of peace, care and relief.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?

The administrative bodies and institutions are not fully aware of the
role which nongovernmental organizations can play as one of the
mechanisms of the civil society.
* Lack of adequate financial resources.
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
* Exerting huge humanitarian efforts in the Kuwaiti prisoners of war issue.
* Working to find a peaceful solution to the conflict between the Somali warring factions.
* Humanitarian efforts to release the prisoners of both conflicting parties in the Western Desert
* Organizing cultural activities to raise public awareness of the issue of peace.
* Humanitarian aid to the people that have been afflicted by disasters in Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Algeria and Egypt.

Participating in many regional and international conferences to discuss
the issues of peace, solidarity and sustainable development.
