OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
The most important obstacles that have prevented progress are -Funds -corruption -lack of culture -poverty -illiteracy and inability to encourage education
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
On
behalf of Talented Youths International, I have been able to write an
article for the last concluded International day of child Abuse and
child ponorgrahpy.
CHILD ABUSES ARTICLE BY IYAMU OSARIEMEN.
Prevention of child abuse and child pornography as well the internet.
Children
from ages are assets not only to their immediate families, but also to
the various societies all over the world. They are nature?s gift from
procreation and also for procreation, thus implementing the
continuation of the existence of our broad societies. The
youth, they say ? Are the leaders of tomorrow? This universally
acclaimed assertion, and children constitute a continuos pool of
youthful resources that will be responsible for the social,
economic and political undertaking of their nations in the near
future. With the aforementioned, it suffice to say that any country
that does not protect her children or engage in meaningful development
programs for the youths, stand the risk of possible extinction and gross less of her useful human resources. If
I may be asked, why do I wish to write on this year?s international day
of the prevention of child abuse and child pornography? The reason is
not far-fetched, as I will expatiate on some of the major cause of this
article. Firstly, I am strongly of the believe that the best place
for children immediately after the family socialization is the school.
Here they are taught the norms and values to read and to write.
Children are also taught the ethics of our country in schools. They
prepare themselves for professional careers for the nearest
future. The reverse should have been the case, if this nature?s gift
were left in the street and they are exposed to various abuses, surely
there will be problems to their immediate families and to the
society. When children begins to move with the wrong group, there?re
likely going to be organized crime in that society. I am not
unmindful of the fact that there is need for children to mix-up with
their peers, but not in such a manner. Let me mention some ways in
which children are been abused, you may have seen cases of street
hawking and next, is the danger of exposure to social vices like theft,
prostitution, gambling as well as watching of pornography movies by adults or children, either at home, cinema or in most internet browsing centers.
As
you may know, this is very rampant in our societies, this is because
exposure of children to the dare devil vices in common among the adults
and children. I am constrain to site this instances to back-up my
claim: A guguru seller, for example (a girl that sells pin nuts and
fried corn) who goes beyond selling her wares to cheerfully giving her
unique famine assets to men for the fun of it ought not to have done
so, if only she has not engage herself in street hawking. I am not been
sentimental, behold, it is a common thing among them. This is the danger of children hawking in the street in our society. This
kind of child abuse is very common in most developing nations. More so,
on several occasion I have seen children ? boys and girls ? with their
wares put aside, engage in a popular kind of gambling around my
locality, the playing of cards, and some times walking into a cyber
caf, seeing children pay to watch ponorgraphic movies.we have tried all
this to contact this internet centers to let them know the danger the
community will be if they allot this kids continue watching this kind
of movies. That they should also help in the broad cast of this same
peace and non-violence world for every one.
|
ADVICE: What advice would you like to
give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a
culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade? |
I
want him to be strong and make sure nothing moves him.He has alway
stood for peace and i want him to know that he is not alone in this
race, that thousands of organization are standing by him,to
encourage, strenghten and to sorport him. Above all God will Give him
more strenght and wisdom to finish that task that has been place on
him. Cause to every position we all attain in life there is a
resposibilities attached to it. His responsibilities are been shared
today be so many people from so many nations and tribe. We love you.
