PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
In
India the Government is promoting human rights and equality of women
also through the media, this is very helpful for the comprehension of
our work in the communities.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
It is difficult for us to obtain a channel of dialogue with government and UN system
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
We
are monitoring the cases pending in courst for violations of HR and we
are going in the villages with groups of women explainig to the village
women and girls working in the houses their rights.
We are
trying to reach the local medias in order to explain the international
conception of equality of women also through own produced cartoons.

give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a
culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade? |
It
would be necessary to have a policy more focused on local problems of
communities, especially for rural countries like India

global movement for a culture of peace? |
