progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
All actions and activities below promote mutual understanding between the children of the world for the sake of peace.

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
• Learning of foreign languages (Russian, English, French, Spanish, Polish, German); • friendly connections with schools of different countries; •
participation in the movement of democratic schools of the world IDEC
since 1993; organizing and hosting the International Democratic
Education Conference in 1998 with 9 participation countries; • holding of the international festival of UNESCO associated schools with 7 participation countries; • participation in UNESCO programs Mondialogo, Great Volga Water Way; •
participation in the international children’s magazin FAX since 1997;
issuing of issues ¹212 “Cultural Heritage” and ¹214 “Family”; • corresponding with pen-pals from France, Spain.
Immersion into World Culture through: • drama performance in different languages; • musical salons; • creating of frescos, collectively created panels (such as landscapes of our planet, friends’ faces); • travelling and tourism; •
plunging into cultures and historical periods of such countries as
France, India, Greece, Egypt, Japan, Russia, the Netherlands; • history; • clothes, everyday life, crafts; • litterature, folklore, traditions.

PARTNERSHIPS: What partnerships and
networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the
global movement for a culture of peace? |
Part
of the Life-Link Friendship-Schools network. Also part of “Culture of
Peace trough World Culture” of UNESCO associated schools in Ukraine.
