PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Si,
|
OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
No
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
Nosotros
Dr.
Isabel Londoño, President of the Foundation Women for Colombia, and Dr.
Consuelo Cardenas, Executive Director share with a group of more than
54 Colombian professional women, members of the Foundation's network,
in one of the traditional monthly breakfast meetings.
The
Foundation Women for Colombia reunites women of all ages, all
professions, all political ideologies around the issue of women's
solidarity and social responsibility. But our funding principle is that
our professional work, done in the best conditions and with a true
sense of responsibility for others and for our country is our best way
to contribute to development and social justice. So we work to
strenghten the careers of our members and to help them develop a sense
of belonging to a larger community than their families and traditional social network.
An
overview of one of the breakfast meetings of the Foundation Women for
Colombia. In each of the meeting, all the participants introduce
themselves, and share with the group 1-2 minutes with their experience,
interest or demands. The group also has a listserve and an electronic
bulletin to contribute with job searching and recruiting, events, and
other services.
