PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Not
so much. I have noticed that the education level has increase, but as
they don't have enough external ativities, then, they can improve their
social and career life. Specially all those who are in the low range of
society in Brazil.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
Low
degree in formal education for our citizens; politicians that prefers
don't care about the future of your citizens and share opportunities or
investiment for long term; They invest in project that them can see at
their terms, but no in long term 10 or 20 years.

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
we
have only call friends and volunteers to work togheter in practice the
voluntarism around the city and another states. We believe that bring
the "real life" and "real problems" for real people, they can notice
what is going on. For example, we have create a virtual web service.
The
site impartial www. eDeus. org/godfather is throwing a UNPUBLISHED
service in the whole Internet:: GODFATHER & GODMATHER.
In this service, a person or a charity´s entity can
begin to do a better world. For example, if you live in the
neighborhood Bay Aerea of the city of San Francisco, CA, your don't
have money, but you have some used clothes, used books or an old
stove, and they are conserved, and you want to donate everything
this for who needs. That´s enough, you are ready ! it is enough to
include those items in the service and to await the requests of the
donation, that can come from the whole world or of its own
neighborhood. Now, perhaps you don't have any material stuff to
donate, but you know how to give classes of mathematics reinforcement,
for example, for people who need and live close to your
neighborhood, then, it is enough to seek also for those people in our
service. Therefore, the service is for who wants to donate or
needs something. And see that, not always for we make the good,
we needed money, but just time and dedication with love. With the
service GODFATHER & GODMATHER you can make the well even
without leaving your neighborhood. Last, you can also serve as
middleman for those people that don't have computer, very less
access the Internet.
Summarizing:
the objective of this service is not it of integrating material goods
or several needs, but the one of integrating committed people.

Do
not send money for countries that do not allow to control where the
money is gonna be invest; put the all prisioners to work and not just
stay in jail; invest in social ativities in school and not just formal
lessions;

We don't have money to invest ourselves, so, we don't know about the future, but only for today.
