Departamento de Arte e Cultura do Governo Participativo de São Carlos
realiza, desde de 2001, uma política inclusiva de Cultura para a Paz e
Não-Violência, realizando atividades culturais em bairros periféricos,
dando atenção especial para jovens em situação de risco e realizando
eventos que buscam valorizar a cultura local, a igualdade de gêneros e
a educação para a Cultura pela Paz. Podemos afirmar que nesses 4 anos
houve progresso nas políticas e nas ações do governo no sentido da paz.

The
Department of Art and Culture of the Participative Government of São
Carlos carries out, since of 2001, an inclusive politics of Culture for
the Peace and Non-Violence, carrying out cultural activities in
peripheral neighborhoods, giving special attention for youths in
situation of risk and carrying out events that are going to value the
local culture, the equality of kinds and the education for the Culture
of Peace. We be able to affirm that in those 4 years there was
progress in the politics and in the actions of the government in the
sense of the peace.

assumir a pasta, foi detectada a inexistência de políticas e ações
culturais pela paz no município e, também, a precariedade com que era
tratada a política e a estrutura administrativa do Departamento de
Artes e Cultura. Um exemplo, era a inexistência de Ação Cultural nos
Bairros, implantada desde de o primeiro ano do Governo Participativo de
São Carlos.

Upon
assuming the period, the inexistence of of politics and cultural
actions for peace were detected in the town and, also, the
precariousness with that was treated to political and the
administrative structure of the Department of Arts and Culture.
An example was the inexistence of Cultural Action in the
Neighborhoods, implemented since of the first year of the Department of
Art and Culture of the Participative Government of São Carlos.
