PROGRESS: Has your organization
seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain
of action and in your constituency during the second half of the
Decade? |
SCC
has designed educational and outreach programs geared towards community
development and partnered with communities and organizations where
others failed or were afraid to reach.
The leadership and
programs of SCC have provided the space and activities where the
Tri-People and Sustainable and Ecological approaches to conflict
transformation and com-munity development have been woven and
mainstreamed into its programs.
Service learning as an integral part of the academic programs bridges the school and the community.
The
ability of SCC leadership to be where the action is as intervener,
providing a bridging leadership both horizontal and vertical has
provided a peace voice for the armed conflict. Its presence in conflict
communities through its local community workers and partner
communi-ties are effective quick response mechanisms for the prevention
of conflict escalation.
