INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY

PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS: What partnerships and networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the global movement for a culture of peace?

WRI, Platform Vredescultuur, Museum voor Vrede en Geweldloosheid, VredesMedia (periodicals VredesMagazine en 't Kan Anders), Huis van Erasmus, People Building Peace, Platform tegen de Nieuwe Oorlog, Stop de NAVO

ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

Because of the long absence due to illness of one of our members of our board and the death of another member our list of activities cannot be complete.

Through the years has always financially supported other Peace organizations like WRI and Humanistisch Vredesberaad, with their activities.

Siets Schoonbergen died December 2009

Chris Geerse keeps contact with WRI, and other organizations like Humanistisch Vredesberaad, Stichting Voor Actieve Geweldloosheid (SVAG) and the magazines Vredesmagazine and ‘t Kan anders

Fred Valkenburg has also been active for Erasmushuis.

Nico Faber has been active in many projects of Peace organizations.
He has also been active  for many years the SVAG.

Wiebren Stienstra gives information to people in stands in many places in Holland, has been active for many peace organizations

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

There seems to be more cooperation between (peace)organizations

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

Our biggest problem is a lack of volunteers.

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

Cooperation with other peace organizations will be emphasized
A speech in Essen, Germany in March 2010 has been planned
Continue the lessons about Peace and War to children
Already making plans for the next Peace Day event

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

It might be important to make it more accessible for all people. We could try to make people aware that a culture of peace and nonviolence is possible.
