Spiritual Caucus at the United Nations; IDP Vigil; World Goodwill; Lifebridge Foundation; World Service Intergroup; Culture of Peace Initiative; Operation Peace Through Unity;

ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

Since 2005 Intuition in Service has sponsored a Global Vigil for Prayer and Meditation covering the 24 hours of International Day of Peace in all time zones.    Participants (groups or individuals) are invited to register for periods of 15 minutes of prayer or meditation for Peace, using the Great Invocation or any other World Prayer precisely on the quarter hour. The goal of the project was to have people around the world participating in a wave of invocations & prayers for a culture of peace every 15 minutes from midnight on the morning of September 21 in New Zealand, through to midnight at the end of the day on the other side of the dateline, in the Pacific Island states of Samoa and Tonga.
A major activity of Intuition in Service is the United Nations Days & Years Meditation Initiative. Members of all faiths and spiritualities are encouraged to work with prayer and meditation in support of the themes of the UN calendar. In 2002 a monthly email Newsletter was initiated highlighting major global conferences and events in the UN calendar, inviting readers to hold these events in the light, and providing a list of web resources about the events.
Intuition in Service has partnered with Lifebridge Foundation and the Rudolf Steiner Foundation in US to jointly sponsor a series of gatherings on Intuition and Money and Intuition and Philanthropy.
A regular column 'New Festivals for our Global Community' is written for a UK journal: Caduceus - Healing for People, Community and Planet. The column highlights major International Days and International Years - encouraging followers of holistic spiritualities to be aware of important themes in on-going work around the world for Cultures of Peace.

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

Yes, undoubtedly. The Vigils for IDP have attracted more participants and a core group from different countries and regions of the world now co-ordinates and publicises these Vigils. There is a growing interest in the monthly Newsletter encouraging subjective (and objective) support for major global conferences and events in the UN Calendar. these are presented as part of the process of  achieving the Millennium Development Goals - which are are a key element in building the Culture of peace.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

The only obstacles are of our own making!

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

To continue to engage individuals and movements drawn to universal spirituality in subjective work in support of Cultures of Peace.

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

By promoting recognition of the vast array of activities being conducted by people from all parts of the world to build more ethical and compassionate relationships in all fields of activity.
