PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS: What partnerships and networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the global movement for a culture of peace?

UNEP-MAP (Mediterranean Action Plan), Euromed Anna-Lindt Foundation for the dialogue between cultures and civilisations...

ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

APNEK-Tunisia centered its activities on the concepts of 'Environmental Citizenship' whereby environmenal protection is seen as an ideal way of getting people to experience citizenship as a focal point of participation / governance, democracy, rule of law, solidarity, peace...
It underwent a number of actions (in schools and outside) and took part in various local, national and international events which sustainable development encompasses and culture of peace and solidarity worldwide synthesizes. It had an active role in the Torino Youth Forum (around the theme "Water and Cultures in Dialogue", 21-25 may, 2008), for example...



PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

Sure. Many people have found out about the 'novel' concepts of governance and related terms, and the members of the governing body (the board) has become more sensitive to such values and matters.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

No.

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

There are no commitments made. But we believe that promoting a culture of peace and non-violence in part and parcel of everyone of our endeavors.

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

Exchange and direct contact between people (social leaders) and communication.
