ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

Greetings from Atlanta: City of Peace. Good news! We authored a document inviting peacemakers worldwide to make their own cities a “City of Peace.” We have invited our Global Family to assist with our 1000-year project. You may read the Declaration of Peace Millennium [Years 2000-3000] at:

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

Our Global Family has now witnessed the completion of the Decade for a Culture of Peace and our organization was VERY HONORED to participate in its success. Our HUGE extended family now begins the second decade of the 21st Century, and also the second decade of the thousand-year period of human history that we have termed: The Peace Millennium (Years 2000-3000). In our organization’s opinion, we believe that Atlanta is one of the best positioned cities on Earth to excel and become a beacon of peace to the entire world. This dream, born in the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and “I Have A Dream”, can soon enough experience reality, and we now invite YOU and all peacemakers worldwide to assist us as Official Co-Founders. We especially invite everyone's help with establishing the Global Peace Museum. GREAT NEWS! We have been offered some PRIME acreage for this new international tourist destination and it adjoins the world’s busiest airport, with nearly 100 million annual passengers! This ideal site for the museum is also connected, via the new ATL Sky-Train, to the Georgia International Convention Center. Our ultimate Peace Millennium dream is to secure, as cornerstone exhibit, NASA’s retired Space Shuttle ATLANTIS. We now invite all to go to our ATLANTIS To Atlanta Campaign site (www.ATLcityofpeace.org) and vote “Yes” in support (note: funding & donations needed too). Establishing this new museum next to the world’s busiest airport, and with ATLANTIS as primary exhibit, will be a powerful teaching tool for many generations into the future. Additional great news! Our organization authored AND referenced the UN Intl. Decade for a Culture of Peace inside the Declaration of Peace Millennium. We joyfully join in with THOUSANDS of other peace organizations worldwide to facilitate an actual and POWERFUL paradigm-shift making peace projects both sustainable and ethically profitable (local-global).

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

The main obstacle for Atlanta: City of Peace is having to suffer with slow growth (note: we have to ‘crawl’ when we want to ‘fly’)! We still do not have professionals working with us who are knowledgeable about web design, public relations, marketing, and fundraising. In consideration that we have Dr. King's "fierce urgency of now" then the slow growth we are experiencing is an obstacle and frustrating. WE HAVE A DREAM though... and believe that major Co-Founders, funding, and publicity will arrive soon enough! Please join in with us!

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

Short/IMMEDIATE Term... we are now working very hard to secure a powerful and globally respected PR Firm like Burson-Marsteller to "tell our story to the world!" Considering the historic nature of our effort, to secure ATLANTIS for Atlanta's new international tourist destination (The Global Peace Museum) we invite ALL to help us "facilitate" a Letter of Support from U.N. General Secretary, Ban Ki-moon. WE will post it on our website, plus we also invite you, and every UN peacemaker worldwide to be Official Co-Founders of this historic campaign to secure ATLANTIS, an US National Treasure, for Atlanta. Our organization’s Medium Term Goal... we will secure powerful leaders for the whole organization, plus for each of our major projects. Long Term Goal... we intend to secure major funding to "grow" Atlanta's greatest asset: "The Gandhi-King Global Peace Connection." Our goal is to deliver Dr. King’s birthplace into its true destiny of becoming a global capital and beacon of peace.

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

The culture of peace and nonviolence will be strengthened globally as WE, the sisters and brothers of our Global Family, begin to celebrate the FACT that we are all connected and ONE Family [NOTE: Would you like to better understand how YOU and your important work is an integral part of the global movement?...
