ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

Efforts to look at issues of structural violence  as a health and human Rights issue in policy advocacy , training and also interaction with various individuals and organizations. Denial of basic needs like health , education in tribal areas
Effort to provide solidarity to defenders of Human Rights eg Dr Binayek Sen . Gender Sensitization and action against Gender Violence

Promoting learning’s from those who have worked for Peace and justice , Working for vulnerable sections getting there entitlements , Mothers , Children , Elderly , Poor , Tribals , Minorities as part of Right to Food Campaign , Doctors for Food And Biosafety . as Alliance for National Maternal Health Rights .

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

Violence is actually increasing, Sex Determination and Female Foeticide , Dowry and Honour Killings, Communal intolerance ,Gender Discrimination . The Mental pressures in adults as well as children are increasing . Most distressing is watching Policies becoming increasingly corporate led is actually increasing  with crass Commercialization  , denial of social economic and equity . Efforts for peace and justice become more difficult . Efforts towards Peace, and encouraging non violence in our own trial areas have gone for sometime . The fact that connections with likeminded groups and organizations and individuals is being made can be considered some progress . But real success would be stopping this violence .

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

Society in transition , Reductionist approach of policies and programs ,rewarding materialism , discounting human values of concern , care compassion even i health and healing , distorted priorities make  ensuring comprehensive approach and understanding difficult to which we are committed .Interconnectedness of human health with the social,economic  and ecological determinants as well as the physical , mental , emotional and spiritual aspects of Holistic Health .

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

Pushing for non military solutions  to conflicts .Working for  the rights and entitlement of the vulnerable , mothers children , tribal . Highlighting increasing  inequities  with the present policies being pursued . high priority is being given to the issue of Food as  high levels of malnutrition , wasting , stunting  of children are forms of violence . Denial of maternal care . Both these will be given high priority

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

Respond collectively when injustice andviolence are reported eg what thetribals are facing today in ourtribal areas .
