Our actions began with a project listed as "First Steps" into the Decade of the Culture of Peace; January 1st - 2001. with one of our students delivering the UN Message before leading the City Mayor into the first steps of the new Millenium.

We were then invited to join the Signing of the Manifesto for Peace - this was promoted by Port of Spain Sister Cities UNESCO Club, while we did not gain one million we got some 8000.00 plus signatures.

iEARNTnT and our UNESCO Club then collaborated with the Federation of UNESCO Clubs to promote the first "Model Local Government Debate, by secondary schools students in four regions - South, East, North and our sister Island Tobago.

In 2004 we were invited to enter a Global Essay Competition being one of the 17 winners, prize a trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica for workshops on Website building, then invited to launched our website at a Conference in Dakar, Senagal, where we gain the recognition of the Natural Disasters Youth Summit, Executive who extended an invitation to join them in Taiwan/Japan for their conference and being named Natural Disasters Youth Summit Ambassador:
We hosted the Summit in 2008 and continue our work in promoting awareness and education on sustainable development, leading up to the Organization Of American States 5th Summit of the Americas held in Trinidad and Tobago.

Three  online projects launched online in 2009 are based on peace within the community and environment

- 1 SANDWATCH in collaboration with UNEP inviting all to join the cal to " SEAL the DEAL" in addition to two local workshops.

- 2 POSITIVEMINDS: also holding two local workshops to create positive awareness to curb gun violence in schools.

- 3 SIGN the UN PEACE RIBBON, currently being conducted throughout the country.

These are our projects over the decade and continuing.

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

Yes! we have seen some progress over the decade, in schools and communities; but quick to add it is an ongoing effort as new issues emerge challenging the effort or success.

We must therefore continue the struggle to create a culture of peace which can be found in the same place where the war is created in the minds of man.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

Our obstacles were not having enough funds to conduct our workshops, to reach our to more communities.

The support and need for the projects are always with us, within and without our boundries, it is global - hence the reason we are online with the promotion.

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

Our new projects SANDWATCH and POSITIVEMINDS workshops are planned for later this year, as funding applications request went out - we now await respond.

The online request to join has been quite positive - we keep hope alive

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

There is always the need for more promotion to reach out to those not yet involved, therefore your global support is welcomed
