PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS: What partnerships and networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the global movement for a culture of peace?

We are partner of Inteternational Network for Cultural Diversity(INCD) and strenthen our capacity. We are are also participated ASIA EUROPE MEETING(ASEM), Coalition for for Cultural Diversity(CCD) and participate and share with different Global Movement.

ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

We are have made the Bangladesh Government to ratify, UNESCO Convention for prorecting and promoting Cultural Diversity(2007). During the decade we organised 10 Children's Art Compition, Film shows for children's mental development, a bi-Monthly seminars for the civil society organization on difeerent issues related to education and peace.

We organized training for the Tribal people(Chittagong Hill Tract) and capacitate 17 local NGOs on working development and peace issues. This is to mentioned here  that the Chittagong Hill Tract was the most arm conflicted areas in Bangladesh for 24 years. After peace accord in 1997 we communicate with different organization and cconducted several training for them in the year 2000-2002.

We are conducting community based library for the poor people.

We published a internet newsletter KRISHTI KATHA(Cultural Talking) upto 2009.

We have our webpage that is totally dedicated for cultural and education promotion.

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

I found the organization in the tribal areas are working well.
Bangladesh Government has ratified convention.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

UNSCO in Bangladesh mostly depended on the National UNESCO Commission (Inactive system).
Fund crises for the organization exclusively working for culture peace and organization.
Even UNESCO Paris prescribes programs those were not relevant to all countries. We consider culture is not like Paracetamol tablet to reduce temperature of culture.

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

Not plan, my reccomendation is to involve proper organization in the planning throgh regional workshops.

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??
