The day culminated with a series of cultural performances and a soccer match at Stadium Lumumba. Delegates from Socopao were sent to all the churches on the 16th of September to prepare them for the day with one message, peace for the world. On the 20th conferences on peace, violence, and abuse were held. On the 21st women met for fasting and prayer at Socopao, and an all day service was held at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

The United Nations and UNICEF organised a day of public activities in Kadutu Stadium in Bukavu. With cultural activities like music and traditional dances War Child Holland showcased its work. Children from local partner organisations created a living peace sign and held a poetry and song-writing competition. Many people came to watch the matches and celebrated the day in a joyful atmosphere.
