PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS: What partnerships and networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the global movement for a culture of peace?

GADYLP has been collaborating with local,national,regional and international organisations that work on peace and related issues in executing its programmes on peace and non-violent approach to conflict resolution and related issues.Some of the organisations but in no way exhaustive are:UNIC,HURINET,UNESCO etc.

ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

We celebrate the International Peace Day on SEPT.21ST every year and in this case, it refers to the years under review áthus:2006,2007,2008,2009 and there are plans for the Grand celebration come this year,sept.21st,2010.The activities are varied including but not limited to peace-related educational áprogrammes by way of seminars,symposia,public speeches,drama,plays,poetry,etc

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade?

We have recorded a quantum of successes eg we have been able to resolve issues that could have led to anarchy among our youths peacefully.We have a regular meeting to discuss peace and non-violent approach to conflict resolution which was not possible in the first half of this review.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

We have a lot of challenges including lack of funding to implement our articulated work plans for the years in review.The continues religious crises and imbroglio that always lead to blood bathing and letting pose a big challenge to our work on peace and non-violent approach to conflict resolution.

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?


GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??
