ACTIONS: What activities have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010 report.

Seminars for students and teachers: - Harmonic relations is a base of a peaceful life; - Civic education as a condition of students’ competence; - Democracy and democratic principles; - Culture of peace through education and enlightenment; - Culture of relashionship; - School of democracy; - Democracy, Education and popular enlightenment; - Democratic principles in the Danish system of education; - A new approach to conflict resolution. Conferences: - Democratizing the educational process; - Healthy way of life; - Globalization and democracy; - World educators; - Education and Society; - Education and democracy; - Means of interaction of the pupils’, teachers’ and parents’ school bodies. Youth Festivals: - 2-nd festival “Culture of peace”; - All-Russian festival “Creating civic competence; - EDU-game (see the photo). Publications: - Healthy way of life and education; - Tolerance is a base of culture of peace. Developing the programme (with the Danish colleagues): School is a local cultural and educational centre.

PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the second half of the Decade? |
Yes, the progress is seen. Those who participated in the seminars and Workshops and played EDU-game changed the situation either on the individual or social level. The senior students work with the schoolchildren of the primary school. They learned how to work in a team and how to share the responsibility.

OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

Sometimes the leaders of the school were against but when they saw the positive sides of changes they stopped to oppose.

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?

2010 - Researching Grundtvig’s ideas on freedom and democracy; on to;erance and free thinking; - Joint Russian and Danish seminar: “Role of the school bodies in creating peaceful and non-violence life at school; - Seminar “Understanding and development democratic princip;les in educational process; - Seminar “Danish educational system is an example of freedom and democracy priority; - Participation in the conference “Globalization and democracy”.

GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??

- To provide with more information on what is going on in the other countries that participates in Culture of peace; - To develop a network of those countries; - To develop a joint programme or plan of actions; - The leaders of the countries must know about the programme and be encouraged by UNESCO and UN.
