2009:
Seoul: URI Korea celebrated at Jeamni village with an interfaith seminar and memorial service for war victims. Gyeongju: Dogguk University students were asked to join in a Peace prayer and had a gathering at the campus center for world Peace, reading a message by Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary General. (via United Religions Initiative)
2005:
Global Academy for Neo-Renaissance of Kyunghee University hosted an international forum in Seoul, in commemoration of the 24th Anniversary of the International Day of Peace. More than 200 scholars from all around the world participated in discussions about the possibility of the future of civilization on Peace and co-prosperity. The program was divided into three sessions: perspective of open humanity, new cultural society and alternative politics. Joseph Verner Reed, under-Secretary-General and special advisor to the UN Secretary-General, delivered keynote a speech on the role of the UN in an era of reinventing world orders.
Service For Peace International students from Japan, China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Nepal, Thailand, Russia, Belorussia, Kenya, Hungary and Chile joined together to create 2005 pieces of origami to be distributed to senior homes and hospitals.

On a global level, reported events for the International Day of Peace continue to grow year after year (see the website listed above):
In the 2005 Report, 155 Peace Day events in 47 countries are presented.
The 2007 records show that: * We had 623 commitments across the world * 70 countries * 225 cities (outside of the USA) * 42 US states * An estimate of nearly 500,000 participants * An average of 500 people per event
2009 annual report listed 700+ events
