progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade?

in the sense that many of the principles of restorative justice have
been adopted in some schools and some parts of the justice system.

| OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
 | Inertia and tradtition:  People wanting to do things in the same old way it has been done.
 | 
| ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
 | --Creation of a full time position devoted to restorative justice practices and victim services.
 --Many
training sessions and speaking engagements to promote peacemaking and
conflict resolution practices  and techniques throughout the
county.
 
 --Collaboration with other community groups and organizations  (see below)
 
 --Program operations bringing victims and offenders together to resolve conflict.
 --Resolving group conflicts in neighborhoods of multiple cultural backgrounds.
