progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Sustainable
development is a term that does not mean anything to the majority of
the population. Those who have read an article, press release or letter
to the editor have grown in understanding of the definition of the
above term as well as the importance of it.
Journalists in the
mass media have been exposed to the term sustainable development in the
form of press releases and papers available on the website. Journalists
have grown in awareness and knowledge of what sustainable development
means.

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

Established
the website www.peacethinktank.org in order to establish an educational
framework for how to accomplish sustainable peace in a number of ways
and in a number of areas.
The A Better Future World website
also provides a foundation of knowledge as well as debating points for
peace activists, teachers, politicians, as well as leaders.

give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a
culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade? |
Focus
on peace and sustainable development education in grades K-12. It is
currently sadly lacking in all schools and colleges.

PARTNERSHIPS: What partnerships and
networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the
global movement for a culture of peace? |
A
Better Future World and Peace Think Tank work in partnership with a
number of groups that are linked to at the end of individual papers.

Further
addition to educational resources on the website, and further education
through outreach to media and schools as well as colleges
internationally.
