PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |

During that period, the Association focused on training and
rehabilitating the poor and needy people so that they can be able to
work and enjoy self-reliance.
* It was mainly concerned with
broadening the culture and knowledge of both mothers and children,
through the Mother and Child Enlightening Programme adopted by the
Association.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?

* Lack of expertise
* Lack of funding

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

Most important activities:
* Opening a centre for family counselling.
* Opening a centre for women health care.
* Opening a training and rehabilitation centre for decoration activities.
* Establishing a periodical loans fund.
* Establishing a centre for the development and promotion of poor areas.
Action areas:
* Financial and in-kind support.
* Motherhood and childhood services.
* Orphanage.
* The handicapped.
* Women empowerment
* Finding solutions to family problems through the Association's Family Counseling Centre.
* Offering loans for women to help them create small enterprises through the Association's Loans Fund.
* Organizing training courses in Training Institute.
