PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Yes!
our organization has seen progress toward a culture of peace and
nonviolence The Refugee Education Sponsorship Program is the first of
its kind in Nigeria. we create awareness of refugee issues by building
bridges between Non refugee students and refugee students living in
Nigeria via the exchange of letters and other projects through dialogue
as our major indicator.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
the most important obstacles that have prevented progress are -corruption -lack of culture -poverty -illiteracy and inability to encourage education
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
we promote peace and nonviolence and every September 21 we encourage our members to promote peace in thier various communities. we annually attend radio interactive programs, where listerners ask questions on Peace Building and conflict transformation.

Our
advice to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a
culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade
are - training trainers of more young people to peace issues - encourage more peace program -discourage and put a final end to child soldiers

Oragnising seminars and training workshops for young people most especially Refugees students. promoting peace through pen pal exchange letters Featuring on Radio programs to talk about the culture of peace(awareness programs) to the general public in nigeria
